Job Description
The Payroll Assistant will be responsible for processing payroll accurately for assigned employee groups while ensuring all payroll information is updated correctly within company systems. The position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
The successful candidate will process payroll data, maintain employee records, prepare payroll reports, answer employee payroll questions, and coordinate with Human Resources, Treasury, and Accounting departments. This position also supports payroll compliance, pension administration, tax documentation, and continuous improvement of payroll procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately for assigned employee groups.
- Ensure payroll is completed within scheduled deadlines.
- Enter payroll information into HR and payroll databases.
- Process overtime, bonuses, leave payments, expense claims, and training payments.
- Handle off-cycle and manual payroll payments when required.
- Maintain employee banking and payroll information.
- Update employee records after promotions, transfers, or other HR changes.

- Prepare monthly payroll reports for Accounting and Treasury teams.

- Help improve payroll procedures and documentation.

Qualification
Required Education
Candidates should have one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification is highly desirable.
- Additional payroll certifications will be considered an advantage.
Required Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in payroll administration.
- Mandatory North Sea payroll experience.
- International payroll exposure is preferred.
- Practical experience with payroll reporting and payroll compliance.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms, especially Workday.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, pension administration, and statutory payments.
- Experience handling confidential payroll information professionally.
