Job Description

The AI Compliance Officer will play a leading role in designing, implementing, and managing Anthropic’s global AI compliance program. This position supports compliance with regulations such as the EU AI Act and other international AI governance requirements.

Working closely with legal, security, policy, engineering, and executive leadership teams, the successful candidate will help transform complex legal requirements into practical compliance processes, documentation, monitoring systems, and internal controls.

The position also includes regular communication with regulators, auditors, and senior leadership while helping the organization prepare for regulatory inspections and future AI governance developments.


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain Anthropic’s AI regulatory compliance program.
  • Create and improve compliance policies and governance procedures.
  • Translate legal requirements into operational controls.
  • Monitor compliance with global AI regulations.
  • Coordinate with legal teams on regulatory matters.
  • Prepare documentation for regulators and auditors.
  • Maintain compliance records and reporting systems.
  • Design compliance monitoring and testing processes.
  • Present compliance updates to executive leadership and board members.
  • Support regulatory inspections and internal audits.
  • Deliver compliance awareness and training programs.
  • Build and manage a growing compliance team.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities.

Qualification

Required Education

Applicants should possess one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law
  • Business Administration
  • Compliance
  • Information Technology
  • Risk Management
  • Public Policy
  • Data Protection
  • Or another related discipline

Equivalent professional education, certifications, and relevant industry experience will also be considered.


Required Experience

Candidates are expected to have:

  • Experience building compliance programs within regulated industries.
  • Practical knowledge of implementing regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working with regulators and government agencies.
  • Strong background in policy implementation.
  • Experience creating compliance documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to manage regulatory audits.
  • Previous leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Around eight or more years of compliance experience is preferred.
