About the Role

The End User Technology (EUT) Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting desktop, laptop, mobile, and virtual endpoint environments across Qatar Airways Group. The role covers OS builds, application deployment, and continuous improvement of the end-user experience aligned with modern security standards and industry best practices.

This position provides L3 support for approximately 30,000 endpoints and over 60,000 users across geographically distributed locations, with a focus on stability, security, and high user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Support & Troubleshooting

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Windows endpoint OS support and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and performance issues through structured analysis.
  • Perform deep technical root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
  • Identify incident trends and drive problem management initiatives to prevent recurrence.

Endpoint Management & Deployment

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize Windows 11 build images aligned with security baselines and hardware compatibility.
  • Administer Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune & SCCM) and Nexthink platforms.
  • Manage the full application packaging lifecycle: discovery, packaging, testing, and release.
  • Ensure regular patching cycles and elimination of End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) software.
  • Drive an “evergreen” endpoint management strategy with continuous lifecycle updates and platform standardization.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies across all managed endpoints.
  • Integrate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, security baselines, and endpoint detection & response (EDR).
  • Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms via Intune.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes, security governance, and compliance frameworks.

Automation & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
  • Contribute to service improvement plans and operational governance initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in endpoint and systems support roles.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise with Windows Autopilot and modern device provisioning techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with endpoint analytics and Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platforms.
  • Proven experience managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions including Citrix and Microsoft AVD.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of software licensing and desktop application lifecycle management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity practices, compliance, and endpoint protection strategies.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide structured technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving technologies and adapt to change effectively.
