Job Description

As a Cyber Defense Analyst, you will help clients prepare for cybersecurity threats and improve their ability to detect, investigate, contain, and respond to attacks. The role combines technical cybersecurity knowledge with consulting and client communication.

Your work may involve responding to complex security incidents, performing forensic investigations, threat hunting, malware triage, and evaluating client networks, applications, and devices. You may also use attacker techniques and security testing methods to identify weaknesses before they can be exploited.

The Cyber Defense Analyst will also need to explain complicated security issues in a way that business leaders and technical teams can understand. Strong communication is therefore just as important as technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the Cyber Defense Analyst will identify weaknesses in customer Cyber Defense Centers and develop practical strategies for improvement. You will help plan security improvements, support implementation, and oversee projects through completion.

The role may also involve advising clients on Cyber Defense Center, CSIRT, and SOC management activities. This can include recommending technical solutions that improve an organization’s security monitoring and incident response capabilities.

Another important responsibility is researching cybersecurity intelligence, attacker techniques, containment methods, and remediation processes. You will use this knowledge to help clients strengthen their ability to identify and respond to security incidents.

Building relationships with executive stakeholders will also be part of the job. The Cyber Defense Analyst must be comfortable collaborating with technical teams, business leaders, and other client representatives to resolve security challenges and achieve project objectives.

Qualification

Required Education

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or another related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

A relevant professional certification is required. Accepted certifications include:

• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA Network+
• ISC2 CISSP
• SANS-GIAC certifications such as GSEC, GCIH, GCED, GCFA, GCIA, GNFA, GPEN, and GWAPT
• Cisco CCNA
• EC-Council CEH or LPT

Candidates with a strong combination of education, practical cybersecurity knowledge, and industry certifications may be well suited to this opportunity.

Required Experience

The Cyber Defense Analyst position requires at least 5 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions across multiple security domains.
