Job description

As a Data Engineer, you will become an integral part of the Data & Advanced Analytics team, supporting critical banking operations and data-driven decision-making processes. Your primary responsibility will be designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level data solutions that transform raw data into meaningful business insights and actionable intelligence.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to integrate new data sources into an existing SQL data warehouse while ensuring the highest standards of data quality, reliability, security, and performance. The role involves building and optimizing data pipelines, improving reporting and analytics capabilities, troubleshooting data-related issues, and supporting both modern cloud-based and legacy data environments.

In addition, you will contribute to data architecture improvements, database optimization, automation initiatives, and compliance with banking industry regulations. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining SQL Server data warehouse solutions.
  • Creating advanced T-SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database views.
  • Integrating new data sources into staging, warehouse, and data mart environments.
  • Building and maintaining reliable ETL and data integration pipelines.
  • Supporting reporting and analytics solutions for business users.
  • Working with Python scripts to automate data engineering processes.
  • Managing version control using Git.
  • Using Airflow to schedule and monitor workflows.
  • Optimizing SQL queries for better database performance.
  • Monitoring data quality and resolving inconsistencies.
  • Supporting legacy systems including Microsoft Access databases, Excel reports, and text files.
  • Collaborating with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for databases and data pipelines.

Qualification

Required Education

Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

Required Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Modeling and SQL database development.
  • At least 5 years of advanced T-SQL programming experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Database Administration or Database Management experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Practical experience developing enterprise-level data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience working with financial product data.
