Job Description
The AI Product Manager will help n8n develop products that sit between traditional software workflows, AI agents, and human decision-making. The goal is not simply to add AI features, but to create products that people can understand, trust, and use successfully in real-world situations.
One possible workstream is AI Trust, which focuses on evaluations, observability, traces, guardrails, reliability, latency, cost management, debugging, and human-in-the-loop experiences. This work helps move AI from impressive demonstrations into dependable production systems.
Another possible area is AI Building / Super Agent. This focuses on features such as custom memory, skills, browser and computer use, files, chat-based building, and proactive suggestions. The objective is to make n8n more AI-native and allow users to build workflows with AI rather than simply using AI inside workflows.
For an AI Product Manager, the role offers considerable ownership. Depending on experience, you may lead your area independently or work with a senior product manager who provides guidance and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a focused AI product workstream from problem discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Product Marketing, DevRel, Community, Support, and Customer Success teams.
- Identify real user problems and turn complex AI opportunities into simple, valuable product experiences.
- Define product priorities, requirements, roadmaps, and success measures for AI-powered features.
- Build and improve AI products, prototypes, agent workflows, and automation experiences.
- Develop and use AI evaluations (evals) to measure product quality, reliability, and performance.
- Improve AI trust through better observability, tracing, guardrails, debugging, reliability, latency, and cost management.
- Help develop AI-native experiences such as Super Agent, custom memory, Skills, browser and computer use, files, and chat-based workflow building.
- Understand practical agentic AI systems, including tool loops, planners, context management, scaffolding, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Conduct user research and use customer feedback to guide product decisions and improvements.
- Analyze product data, funnels, and relevant metrics to understand adoption and identify opportunities.
- Make clear product trade-offs and decide which features should be built, improved, delayed, or removed.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure AI features are practical, reliable, scalable, and user-friendly.
- Bring structure to ambiguous problems and move projects forward despite changing requirements.
- Stay up to date with developments in AI products, AI agents, automation, and emerging developer tools.
- For senior-level candidates, independently own 0-to-1 AI products and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- For early-career candidates, demonstrate a strong learning mindset through experimentation, side projects, public demos, open-source work, or other visible AI building.
Qualification
Required Education
A specific university degree is not stated as a strict requirement for this position. n8n places considerable emphasis on practical ability, product judgment, AI knowledge, and evidence that you can build useful things.
A degree in computer science, software engineering, business, product management, information technology, or a related subject can be helpful. However, strong practical projects, public work, open-source contributions, prototypes, and experience with AI tools can also demonstrate the required capabilities.
Required Experience
The AI Product Manager position is open to different levels of experience.
For senior applicants, n8n values experience launching AI products used by real customers, owning products from discovery through launch, working with product metrics, using SQL, and influencing engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams.
For early-career applicants, the company looks for people who learn quickly and have seriously experimented with AI. Personal projects, public demos, open-source contributions, technical prototypes, writing, talks, or agent workflows can help demonstrate your abilities.
Experience with AI products does not necessarily need to come from a traditional product management job. What matters is that you have actually built or meaningfully worked with AI systems.
Required Skills
A successful AI Product Manager should be comfortable using modern AI development and productivity tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, n8n, or similar platforms. You should actively follow developments in AI products and understand how the technology is changing.
Strong knowledge of AI evaluation is also important. Candidates should have experience creating or shaping evaluations rather than simply understanding the concept theoretically.
You should understand practical agentic AI concepts, including tool loops, planners, scaffolding, context management, and the limitations of AI systems.
Strong product judgment is essential. You should be able to identify valuable problems, understand trade-offs, prioritize features, and decide what should not be built. Good UX taste is also important because the role involves creating experiences that feel clear, useful, and intuitive.
The ability to work with uncertainty is another major requirement. n8n wants people who can take a complicated problem, organize it into smaller pieces, and make meaningful progress without having every answer available from the beginning.
Experience with workflow automation, developer tools, open-source software, growth experiments, or early-stage companies can be valuable. A coding background is also useful, particularly for candidates working with AI agents and technical products.
Public writing, conference talks, open-source projects, or visible personal projects can strengthen an application
Benefits
n8n provides a range of benefits for European employees, including 30 vacation days plus local public holidays. Employees can also receive equity in the company and a €1,000 annual budget for courses, books, events, or coaching.
The company supports remote work across Europe and provides benefits according to local country requirements. Employees also receive an unlimited AI budget to explore tools that can improve their productivity.
The role offers a strong environment for anyone who wants to develop a career in AI product development while working with a rapidly evolving technology platform.
Why Apply?
This AI Product Manager opportunity could be a strong fit for someone who wants more than a traditional product management position. You will be close to users, technology, and emerging AI capabilities while helping decide how AI should become part of a major workflow automation platform.
Whether you are an experienced product leader or an early-career builder with serious AI projects, n8n is looking for people who are curious, practical, and willing to turn ambitious ideas into products that people can genuinely use.
